Startups and investments a focus of this year’s Digital Innovators’ Summit

Interested in startups and investing in startups for growth? Don't miss out as we shine a spotlight on startups and investment strategies as part of our jam-packed 7th Digital Innovators' Summit programme.

Just like its speakers and audience, the Digital Innovators’ Summit itself is evolving. This year, the programme of the premier international conference for magazine media and other content businesses focuses a spotlight on startups and startup investments too, with several dedicated sessions and new offerings.

After all, the Digital Innovators’ Summit takes place from 24-25 March 2014 in Berlin, one of the top – if not the top – startup hubs in Europe.

Young Innovators @DIS

The first Young Innovators @DIS will give interesting startups valuable stage time to present their businesses and concepts. For the audience of the conference, this is an opportunity to discover brand new products and services and perhaps even spot an investment opportunity (all the while sharing in some startup energy!).

The Young Innovators @DIS is part of the conference programme and takes place in the afternoon of the second day of the Summit, Tuesday, 25 March 2014. Around ten startups participate with rapid-fire presentations.

Meet the Founder Tour

Thanks to the Summit’s location in Berlin, we will also offer a chance to tour some of the most interesting startups relevant to media companies – our Meet the Founder Tourtakes place on Sunday afternoon, the 23rd of March.

Participants will visit a number of vibrant startups in their work places, to get insights into their ideas, business models and technologies, and discuss the new products and concepts with their founders. The Tour is a fantastic way to experience firsthand the spirit and enthusiasm of the Berlin startup scene.
Please note spaces for the Tour are limited and need to be booked separately from the conference.

Speakers discussing investments in media

Many media companies use investments into startups to infuse their own companies with new ideas, products, technologies and businesses, to learn and stay abreast of new trends and developments or just in the hopes of a healthy cash payout down the road.

The Digital Innovators’ Summit 2014 devotes a comprehensive session on exploring approaches to and goals of investments in media-related companies.

James Tye, CEO, Dennis Publishing and Herman Kienhuis, Investment Director of Sanoma Ventures will share the investment approaches of their media houses, while Brian Garrett, Managing Director, Crosscut Ventures and Co-Founder and President/COO of StyleSaint, will contribute the perspective of an independent seed stage venture capitalist.

These sessions on startups and investing are only part of a dynamic programme showcasing many innovative publishers and other media-related organizations.

We expect around 500 international delegates at the Summit, and aside from gaining interesting and practical insights from the conference programme, delegates will have formal and informal opportunities to network, visit the exhibition area or have fun at our DISFest after Day 1 of the programme.

Discounted Early Bird tickets are available until 31 January 2014 (for FIPP and VDZ members, this is on top of the normal membership savings). Register here before the offer ends!
