Learn how to innovate at DIS 2015

DIS 2015 will bring you many examples and case studies of others in media and content businesses who have innovated, but also teach about the process and the culture of innovation.

Are you looking to innovate in your organization? This year’s Digital Innovators’ Summit on 23-24 March in Berlin will not only bring you many examples and case studies of others in media and content businesses who have innovated, but also teach about the process and the culture of innovation. We are excited to have some of the world’s foremost experts on innovation share insights, concepts and tips on the second day of the conference (Tuesday):

  • Justin Ferrell is Fellowship Director and teaches at the renowned Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford, also known as the d.school. He will talk about some of the key elements that can help media organizations innovate, such as applying design thinking, the idea of creative confidence and fostering a creative culture. In an additional, highly intimate and interactive fireside chat, Justin will happily go deeper into the concepts that the audience wants to understand more about. With his background in digital and mobile design and product development in news, lastly at the Washington Post, Justin is in an ideal position to talk innovation to publishers.

  • Alan South will lead an engaging innovation deep dive at the DIS that explores when to use what methods for innovation, and how to communicate this internally, for the best possible support and outcome. Alan is an innovation practitioner and leads classes on innovation and change for executives at Oxford University’s Saïd Business School and for FIPP, among others. His background includes leading premier innovation shop IDEO Europe and successfully managing an innovative start up.

  • To see innovation at work at a publishing house, Pernille Aalund and Jan Krog Henningsen of Aller Media Innovation will share how they approach innovation in a very systematic way, which has lead to new products that provide the Danish publisher with new global revenue streams. They will also share what you can learn from the inevitable byproduct of innovation – failure. Learn more about Pernille, Jan and their session at the DIS.
