DIS Late - Karaoke
Monday 20 March 2017
Location: Monstor Ronson Ichiban, Warschauer Str. 34, 10243 Berlin (map)
Set in an area of Berlin that is not for the faint hearted, delegates are invited for an evening of singing and drinking.
The owner of the Monster Ronson, Ron Rineck, moved to Berlin from Salt Lake City and with little money, began sleeping in his car. Eventually he decided to buy a second hand karaoke machine and was soon driving to squat houses all over Europe and getting paid to throw karaoke parties. Eventually he saved enough to open his own bar and it is now packed out almost every night of the week and a place where aspiring divas can belt out songs in one of several different karaoke booths, some small and intimate, others complete with their own stage area where transsexual hosts often compete on weekends.
Covered in graffiti and attracting a diverse crowd this night gives delegates a real taste of alternative Berlin.
As this is not a sponsored event, delegates are responsible for thier own bar bill and are asked to bring cash as the venue does not accept cards (although an ATM is located just outside).
